Covid Update 3/31/22

Good afternoon,

Please see the attached updated COVID Protocols from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) https://www.doe.mass.edu/covid19/on-desktop/protocols/.

The two main differences included in this update are:

 1. If you are an unvaccinated close contact outside of school, you only need to quarantine for 5 days and can return on day 6 if asymptomatic. Testing (home rapid or PCR) is recommended but not required to return to school.

2. Regardless of vaccination status, you may remain in school with mild symptoms if negative via the BinaxNow testing.

I am pleased to report that currently there are only two positive cases in our school community, one student at Roger's Middle School and one student at the Jefferson school.

Even though case activity has declined, we are still continuing our At Home Testing Program and our free in-school rapid and PCR testing programs.  If you would like to opt into our At Home Testing Program you can do so with the following link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdqXJ_GUPMQvU6fX5WI4HSsiZUDwJH-6WQ3V2Klx9_Ax6VS4g/viewform. If you are in need of a PCR test, please contact your building nurse.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and support.

 Sincerely,

 Alan Cron, Ed.D.

Superintendent
