Water for South Sudan

RMS Parents and Families,

In the fall, we held our A Long Walk to Water Walk-a-Thon to raise money for water for South Sudan. We raised $2468 of our $5000 goal, so we are almost halfway there! This money will be used to purchase a new drilling rig for a rural village in South Sudan, which will enable people to have access to clean water. If we meet our goal, our school name will be written on the well. This is an exciting opportunity for our school community to make a difference! There are two ways to help:

Read-a-Thon: Students promise to read at least one book by March 20.

Fitness Challenge: Students participate in several challenges after school on Monday, March 9 (grades 5 and 6) or Tuesday, March 10 (grades 7 and 8). These activities will take place in the gym from 2:45-3:45.

We are asking that family members or friends sponsor students $5.00 for either activity. The pledge slip was sent home with students. I have included a copy for your reference. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your continued support of our goal!

Respectfully Yours,

Cheryl Schipper, Assistant Principal
